If you decide to purchase one of our online image consulting services in our Shop, such as “Jewelry Analysis”, “Color Analysis” or “Style Analysis”, you have first to figure out your natural hair color and your skin tone in terms of “cool” or “warm”. To determine your natural hair color, you will find useful information in the next paragraph. To assess your skin tone, we describe some quick and easy methods.

Natural Hair Color

“Natural” color is your current hair color if you have never colored your hair and you do not have gray hair. If you have been coloring your hair and you can’t even remember what your natural hair color is, try to remember what the color was when you were about 15-20 years old. That hair color is your natural hair color. If you have gray hair, your natural hair color is the color before you had gray hair.

Cool or Warm Skin Tone

To determine your cool or warm orientation, you can wrap a silver/cool gray or a gold drape/garment around your face and shoulders. You will immediately see whether cool or warm tones look best on you. When you wear the correct tone, your best features “pop”. Your skin looks smoother and healthier. Your eyes appear brighter and livelier.

Look at the underside of your arm in natural daylight. If you have a pink or rosy undertone and blue/gray-tinted veins, you have a cool skin tone. If you have a golden or apricot undertone and green-tinted veins, you have a warm skin tone.

In natural daylight you can use a hand mirror to examine the area beneath your eyes. If it looks deep blue/purple, you have a cool skin tone. If it looks yellow/green/brown, you have a warm skin tone.

You can hold a piece of white paper next to your cheek. In contrast to the pure white, if your cheek appears to have a blue/pink cast, you have a cool skin tone. If your cheek appears to have a yellow/orange cast, you have a warm skin tone.

If you have true olive skin, you can hold a white garment, then a khaki garment up to your face. If the white flatters you, you are cool. If the khaki flatters you, you are warm.
