What are the benefits of hiring a business consultant?

In a nutshell: it’s lonely at the top. People start business for a variety of reasons, usually because of an expertise or experience in their given craft. Even as a team builds, it is not always easy to get direct and honest feedback. A business consultant will challenge your assumptions, offer alternatives and ensure your decisions and procedures are coherent and effective. You will find yourself with a well structured business that runs smoothly, allowing you to focus on innovation, growth and leadership.

What is most rewarding about your work?

There are stages to the satisfaction in my work: it starts when I give a client a new piece of information or point of view that makes their life easier. The reactions to those instances are the first moment of satisfaction. Then we build improved procedures and finally, once these are implemented and executed, I see the improved outcome of a client’s business. It is rewarding to see a business grow and it is gratifying to know that I helped make it happen.

What are your goals for the future?

People will ask: where do you see yourself in the far future, or in 30 years. I don’t look that far ahead but I do know that I have always wanted, and still want, to laugh every day, be productive and have financial stability. So I try to build a life that gives me these things. Over time, the methods will change but the result it what matters. For now: growing my business practice, and nurturing my mind and my body through a healthy life and relationship with my husband, keep me happy and satisfied.

What kind of jewelry do you like?

Statement pieces! The way I feel about style in general is: you have to wear clothes so you may as well have fun doing it. I wear it all: earrings, necklaces, bracelets, rings, and I like to have pieces in a variety of colors, styles and materials. I like silver accessories, but when it comes to colors I find most colored stones or insets sit best with yellow gold, so my closet includes a fair amount of yellow gold as well. I use an app to select my outfit each day (really: I have a system for everything!) and that includes jewelry, choosing matching pieces for each day’s style.

Who or what is precious in your life?

I define success as waking up each day with a smile on my face. So I work to create the circumstances for that to happen. My husband is a big part of that. We are both self-employed and so we support each other in life and in work. Having a safe, happy, home and work environment is key. To achieve that, I focus energy on things I can control and on being a reliable resource to my friends and clients.
